Connect Your Mac to SysMatrix.Net

Below you will find the directions on how to connect your Mac to us. You will also find directions on how to configure Outlook Express 5.0.2 or later, Netscape mail, Eudora, and MS Entourage to send and receive e-mail. You may use any of these mail programs.

Manually Configuring Macs that have Mac OS 9.0 to Connect to the Internet

  1. Click the "Apple" in the left hand corner of the menu bar.
  2. Select "Control Panels".
  3. Select "Remote Access".
  4. Enter username and password.
  5. Enter the dial-up number in your area.
  6. Click "Connect"

If your connection does not function correctly, please follow this list.

  1. Click the "Apple" in the left hand corner of the menu bar.
  2. Select "Control Panels".
  3. Select "TCP/IP".
  4. Change the "Connect via" setting to "PPP".
  5. Set "Configure" to "Using PPP Server".
  6. Enter the following numbers in the "Name Server Addr" box:
  7. 4.2.2.1
  8. 4.2.2.2
  9. Enter "SYSMATRIX.NET" in the "Search Domains" box.
  10. You are complete. To connect to the Internet, just double-click "Internet Explorer" or "Netscape Navigator".


Manually Configuring Outlook Express 5.0.2 on Macs that have Mac OS 8.x +

  1. Click on tools and then go to accounts
  2. Click the tab that says "Mail"
  3. Click on "New"
  4. Enter your full name then click on the right arrow
  5. Enter your e-mail address Example: user@sysmatrix.net then click the right arrow
  6. My incoming mail server is a "POP" Server
  7. For incoming mail (pop, imap) server enter email.sysmatrix.net
  8. For outgoing mail SMTP enter email.sysmatrix.net then click on the right arrow
  9. Account id: enter your full SysMatrix email address again. Example: user@sysmatrix.net
  10. Password: enter your password you supplied to SysMatrix
  11. Check save password (THIS IS OPTIONAL. IF YOU DON'T CHECK THIS OPTION THEN YOU MUST ENTER YOUR PASSWORD EACH TIME YOU CHECK YOUR E-MAIL) Click on the right arrow
  12. Enter an account name. Account name will be sysmatrix.net
  13. Check include account during send and receive all.
  14. Click on "FINISH"
  15. Double click on SysMatrix.Net
  16. Click on "click here for advanced sending options" located under Sending mail
  17. Check on "SMTP server requires authentication"
  18. Use Login using and enter your account id and password
  19. Check "save password"
  20. Press "return" on your keyboard
  21. Click "OK"

Congratulations you are now ready to send and receive e-mail using Outlook express 5.0.2


Manually Configuring MS Entourage on Macs that have Mac OS 8.x +

  1. Click on "tools" then "Accounts"
  2. Click on the "Mail Tab"
  3. Click on "New"
  4. Type in your full name
  5. Check "I already have an e-mail address that I'd like to use"
  6. Enter your e-mail address
  7. Click the right arrow
  8. My incoming mail server is POP. Enter your pop and smtp server POP: email.sysmatrix.net SMTP: email.sysmatrix.net
  9. Enter your SysMatrix email address again
  10. Enter your password you have chosen
  11. The save password is optional
  12. Click the right arrow
  13. Enter an account name. Example: SysMatrix.net
  14. Click "finish"

Congratulations you are now ready to use Entourage with SysMatrix Internet


Manually Configuring Eudora on Macs that have Mac OS 8.x +

  1. Click on "Special"
  2. Click on "Settings"
  3. Under "Checking Mail" fill in all the information
  4. Username: Enter your full SysNatrix email address
  5. Mail server: email.sysmatrix.net
  6. Real name: enter your full name
  7. SMTP server: email.sysmatrix.net
  8. Return Address: username@sysmatrix.net
  9. Click on "checking mail" on the left hand side
  10. Username: enter your full sysmatrix email address
  11. Mail Server: email.sysmatrix.net
  12. Mail Protocols: POP
  13. Authentication: passwords
  14. Check save password
  15. Under connections put a check next to check mail every 5 min
  16. Check use background threading
  17. Check send on check
  18. Mail management leave all unchecked
  19. On left hand side click on sending mail
  20. Return address: user@sysmatrix.net
  21. Default domain: LEAVE BLANK
  22. SMTP Server: email.sysmatrix.net
  23. Check "allow Authorization"
  24. Check "Immediate send"
  25. Check "send on check"
  26. Check "Use Separate thread for sending"
  27. Check "Fix curly quote"
  28. Check "Keep copies"
  29. Leave the rest alone
  30. Click "OK"

Congratulations you are now ready to use Eudora with SysMatrix Internet


Manually Configuring Netscape Mail on Macs that have Mac OS 8.x +

  1. While you're in Netscape click on the inbox to open up Netscape mail
  2. Click on edit then "preferences"
  3. On the left hand side locate "Mail & newsgroups"
  4. Select "identity"
  5. Your name: enter your full name
  6. E-mail Address: user@sysmatrix.net
  7. Reply address: "LEAVE BLANK"
  8. Organization: enter your business name
  9. Click on "mail servers"
  10. Incoming mail servers click on "Add"
  11. Enter email.sysmatrix.net
  12. Server type POP
  13. User Name: full SysMatrix email address
  14. Check "remember password"
  15. Check "Check for mail every 10 minutes"
  16. Select "News server"
  17. Click on "add"
  18. For host enter: news.sysmatrix.net
  19. Click "OK"
  20. Leave everything else alone and just click "OK"

Congratulations you may now check you e-mail with SysMatrix
