REFLECTION JOURNALS

MS. BUTTER'S & MRS. RAZZINO'S CLASSES

Multimedia Topics for Reflection Journals

More original data will be created in the next 2 years than in all of human history.

The purpose of your reflection journal is to give you time to read, hear, and consider some of the information that is now being generated for your "consumption" because of the technology information presently available due to multimedia.  This is an opportunity to attempt to "keep up" with this information through short class discussions while you develop hands-on experience using some of this new technology. Certainly, this is not everything there is out there, but because you have elected to take this course, you will be "One step ahead" of others who do not avail themselves of what the business world will be expecting from  your generation .

Not only will they expect you to "know" about the equipment, they will also assume you can handle yourself away from the computer in the form of presenting yourself using good communication skills, oral as well as written. Therefore, during the Semester, multimedia articles (approximately 1 per week) will be discussed in  class about this new  information age(multimedia ) to let you know what is happening in multimedia, at "lightening speed", so that you can  ponder and reflect upon this  in journal form.

Criteria for Journal Grading will be as follows:

:     Each journal entry will be dated and Titled (Name of Article or discussion)

:     A reflection is a brief summary about any topic discussed in class and then your own view (critique) of that topic, (thoughts and whether or not you agree/disagree)typed into your journal.

:     Do not just rewrite the article. (What is your input on these articles) I'm looking for your reaction/thoughts.

:     Students are responsible for keeping  their journals up-to-date.

:     Reflections are to be written during class times, in between regular classroom assignments.

:     A cover sheet should be made, for hand-in, identifying the journal, Student Name, Period, and date.

:     Grading Rubric will be discussed in class
